Personal Training & Strength Coaching for Women in Wellington

I'm Lia To'omata, personal trainer, strength coach and certified somatic coach behind Align & Thrive. I coach women 40+ and young female athletes in Wellington to build real strength, understand how their bodies move, and back themselves again.

Strength & movement

Progressive strength training that builds physical capacity, resilience and the self-trust that comes with it.

Body awareness

As a certified somatic coach, Lia teaches you how you move so your confidence comes from understanding, not guesswork.

Mindset & real life

Five years as a PT, eight coaching classes, and a life-coaching diploma. Burnout, menopause, grief and motherhood get coached too.

The thing nobody says out loud

"What if my body can't do what it used to?"

That fear stops more women from training than any gym ever has. Align & Thrive works past it the same way every time, by teaching you how your body moves, loading it gradually, and letting the evidence stack up until you hear yourself say: I'm actually capable of more than I thought.

She gets it

Compassionate, but she won't let you underestimate yourself

Five years as a personal trainer, eight years coaching classes, a diploma in life coaching and a somatic coaching certification. That mix is the point: Lia bridges the gap between fitness and real-life wellbeing rather than handing you a list of exercises.

No one-size-fits-all programming. She takes the time to understand you, your body, your life stage, your sport, your goals and what's actually going on. The training and sessions are built around that. Clients describe it as supportive, empowering, challenging and genuinely personal.

You'll feel seen, heard and safe to be yourself, and you'll still get nudged past the edge of your comfort zone. That's where the confidence comes from.

Who I train

Women 40+ and young female athletes

Women 40+

Strength training that keeps you capable. Muscle, bone health, energy and the confidence to trust your body again.

Perimenopause

Your body is changing and the old rules stopped working. Training and fuelling built for this stage, not your twenties.

Menopause

Protect muscle, bone density, sleep and mood. Progressive strength work that supports independence for the long haul.

Young female athletes

Tennis, rugby, netball, basketball, mountain biking, waka ama. Strength, speed, power, agility and injury resilience.

Active women

You already move. Now build the strength and body awareness that makes everything you love feel easier.

Coming back from injury or a break

Rebuilt from the ground up, at a pace that respects where you are - and proves you're capable of more than you thought.

Strength & conditioning

Built for the sport you actually play

Tennis, rugby, basketball, netball, mountain biking, waka ama. Conditioning that complements your season instead of competing with it. Strength, speed, power, agility and stability, plus the body awareness that keeps you on the field.

  • Sport-specific strength and power
  • Injury resilience and movement quality
  • Confidence in what your body can do
